Reflexology, ear acupuncture, chair massage offered at Knox County Health Clinic
ROCKLAND — Foot reflexologist Michele Nettles will once again join the team of volunteer wellness practitioners at the Knox County Health Clinic in Rockland. Every Wednesday starting at 4:15 pm, volunteers provide reflexology, group ear acupuncture and chair massage at the Clinic, 22 White St. in Rockland, behind the Rockland Public Library.
All are welcome. Sessions are free, however, donations to the Knox County Health Clinic will be gratefully accepted to cover costs.
Michele Nettles, certified foot reflexologist, offers 10- to 15-minute individual sessions of foot reflexology, a form of bodywork where pressure is applied to the reflex points of the feet. These reflex points correspond to specific areas of the body and assist in reducing tension and stress.
Eileen Murray, licensed acupuncturist, performs a simple yet effective ear acupuncture treatment that reduces the body's response to stress. This 5-point protocol treatment is done in the community style setting, sitting in a chair, fully clothed. The treatment is relaxing and restorative.
Cathy Coneita, licensed massage therapist, provides 15-minute individual chair massages done through clothing in a special ergonomic chair. Chair massage focuses on reducing muscle tension, particularly in the back, neck, shoulders and arms.
