ROCKLAND — Priscilla Benson, 91, passed away peacefully April 3, 2015, with her daughter at her side, at Windward Gardens in Camden.

Born May 22, 1923, in Stockholm, she was the daughter of Magloier and Annie Chassi Plourde.

She attended area schools and was a 1941 graduate of Houlton High School.

Following high school, Priscilla began her career with the War Department, working for nine months before she resigned and returned home to care for her mother, who was recovering from tuberculosis. Returning to the work force, she began work with the Houlton Air Force Base as a clerical worker, later moving on to Bradley Field Air Force Base in Connecticut.

Following her marriage to Clayton Benson on Aug. 18, 1947, in Houlton, Priscilla worked in a small gift shop there. She then worked for the Houlton Pea Factory. After her three daughters were born, she became a stay-at-home mother. The family moved to Rockland in 1985 and she has since resided here.

Predeceased by her husband, Clayton, on Aug. 12, 2006; her brother, Dorson Plourde; and her sister, Dorothy King; she is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Cynthia and Grant Milbouer of Deland, Fla., Barbara and Bill Nadeau of Warren, and Sally and James Murray of St. Cloud, Minn.; her sister, Sylvia (Geraldine) Root of Wethersfield, Conn.; her grandchildren, Philip Nadeau, Renee Algarin, Melissa Murray and Samuel Murray; and her great-grandchildren, Silas Nadeau, Brayden Nadeau and Elise Algarin.

Priscilla's family would like to extend a special thanks to all the caregivers at Windward Gardens for the kind and compassionate care they gave. They all made Priscilla's stay much more comfortable.

A memorial service at St. Bernard's Catholic Church will be announced in June.

Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home.
