The Good Tern Co-op's eleventh annual mail-in exhibition, “Poetry & Art XI", opens in July 2025. This exhibition invites artists and poets of all ages to contribute postcard-sized works that will adorn the walls of the gallery in Hole in the Wall Bagels, located at 754 Main Street, Rockland. Last year's exhibition featured submissions from four countries and over a dozen U.S. states, showcasing a vibrant tapestry of creativity. 

To participate, create a poem, painting, drawing, collage, or other artwork that fits within the dimensions of a standard postcard (approximately 4” x 6”). Submissions should be family-friendly and suitable for public display. Works may be signed or submitted anonymously. Entries must be postmarked by June 23 and submitted by mail to: Curator of Poetry & Art, Good Tern Co-op, 750 Main Street, Rockland, ME 04841.

The Poetry & Art XI exhibition will run from July 6 through September 28, 2025, at Hole in the Wall Bagels, open daily from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. An opening reception will be held on Sunday, July 6, from 2:30pm to 4pm, to which the public is warmly invited.

"While the traditional nature of mail-in exhibitions involves creating pieces specifically for the event without the expectation of return, we understand that some participants may wish to retain their original works," said the Co-op, in a news release. "If you would like your piece returned, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with adequate postage. Alternatively, if clearly specified, works can be picked up in person at Good Tern during the month of October. Submissions without clear return arrangements will be considered contributions to the exhibition."
