Philip A. Young, obituary
BELFAST — Philip A. Young, 82, of Belfast, passed away at home on April 20, 2019. Born to Philip and Mary Young in Edinburgh, Scotland, Philip moved to the United States in 1977, eventually settling in Belfast, Maine, with his wife, Isobel, of 58 years. Philip considered himself a great clockmaker and was regarded as one of the best in the business. He was never shy about giving his opinions to anyone who would listen.
Under the wide and starry sky,
Dig the grave and let me lie.
Glad did I live and gladly die,
And I laid me down with a will.
This be the verse you grave for me:
Here he lies where he long'd to be;
Home is the sailor, home from the sea,
And the hunter home from the hill.
Philip was predeceased by his parents Philip Young and Mary (Miller) Young.
He is survived by his wife, Isobel, of Belfast; children Wendy Lynch, of Belfast, and Edward Young, of Brooks; grandchildren Sean Lynch and Heather Desrochers; great-grandchildren Simon and one on the way Louise.
Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home. Due to Philip’s wishes, there will be no services. Donations may be made in his name to your local animal shelter.
