Officer Jeff Aeschlimann awarded 2020 Rockland Police Officer of the Year

    ROCKLAND — On Saturday, May 15, at a ceremony at the Rockland Police Department, Officer Jeff Aeschlimann was awarded the 2020 Rockland Police Officer of the Year Award. Officer Aeschlimann was nominated for this award by several of his peers.

    Officer Aeschlimann, who joined the police department June of 2019, was the unanimous choice of the nominating committee, whose nomination letter reads, in part:

    “After an in depth discussion it was the unanimous decision to nominate Officer Jeff Aeschlimann as the 2020 Officer of the Year. Each Officer that was nominated is deserving of this prestigious award. However based on Officer Aeschlimann’s professionalism, work ethic, reliability, and self-initiative, it is evident that he is without a doubt the best candidate for this award.”

    Rockland Chief of Police Chris Young further offered the following:

    “Officer Aeschlimann is a consummate professional both inside the department and out in public answering calls and delivering police services. He is a resource for his peers and embodies the team effort of Rockland PD. Officer Aeschlimann is motivated for personal success and the success of the department as a whole.

    “Officer Aeschlimann exceeded the high standards of the Rockland Police Department on a consistent basis throughout 2020. His work ethic, reliability and commitment to the Rockland Police Department and citizens of Rockland represent what all of us strive to achieve on a daily basis at Rockland PD. I commend him for a job well done.”
