Northern Light Blue Hill, Maine Coast Hospitals update COVID-19 testing procedures

Fri, 09/10/2021 - 5:15pm

ELLSWORTH and BLUE HILL — Northern Light Blue Hill and Maine Coast Hospitals will be changing the COVID-19 testing process starting Friday, September 10.

Maine Coast Hospital is re-opening their testing building in the parking lot across from the hospital at 50 Union Street, Monday – Friday, from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.; and Blue Hill Hospital is utilizing the testing building on their campus Monday-Friday, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Testing is available for those who are symptomatic or asymptomatic with an exposure. More information for COVID-19 testing is available at: COVID-19 – Northern Light Health.

Testing is available by appointment only and will include a self-swab test; staff will not be swabbing patients (and parents will need to swab their children.) To schedule an appointment for Maine Coast, please visit: COVID-19 - Northern Light Health or call 844-489-1822; for Blue Hill, call 374-2311.

State order testing sites, including Northern Light Health facilities, can no longer accept or process samples for people looking for pre-travel or event clearance. Because of volume, this testing is reserved for people with a confirmed or suspected exposure. Travel and event testing is available at many fee for service locations (with a much quicker turnaround time) throughout the state, including the Northern Light Pharmacy on State Street in Bangor.
