ROCKLAND — A new recreational marijuana store opens officially this week at 403 Main Street in Rockland.

“With a front window full of gorgeous plants, and a cool easy vibe inside the store, Botany is creating a safe and comfortable place for the curious and discerning marijuana customer,” said Botany, in a news release.

Mark Benjamin, part owner of the new store, says that getting the space and service right is the most important thing.

“New recreational marijuana stores are opening up all over the state right now,” said the release. “Some of them are amazing, but I haven’t found any that make me feel truly comfortable. Botany aims to do just that: Provide a safe and comfortable spot for anyone who is interested in exploring a relationship with cannabis, or is just looking to buy the best product they can find, in a fun, no-hassle way.”

Botany, which soft-opened in September, offers a full spectrum of products. And the store doesn’t require a medical marijuana card to visit. Customers just need a photo ID showing that they are over 21 to enter the store.

“We are here because we want to cultivate joy, compassion, creativity, and improve people’s quality of life,” says Benjamin. “It’s as simple as that. And we hope we’ve created a store that the community will feel great about. Stop in, ask questions, listen to a few songs on the record player.”

Botany is one of several businesses to participate in ribbon-cuttings Thursday, October 14, 2021.
