New Hope Midcoast debuts film, panel discussion 'Creating Communities of Compassion'
ROCKLAND — Domestic abuse, homelessness and food insecurity are some of the most difficult challenges facing our communities today. Join New Hope Midcoast on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 5:30 - 7 p.m., at the Strand Theatre, for Creating Communities of Compassion to learn more about how organizations in Midcoast Maine work together to overcome these issues and support those in our communities who grapple with these concerns day after day.
This free event includes the debut of New Hope’s film featuring the stories of two survivors followed by a panel discussion focusing on how local organizations work together to create and sustain a strong, impactful network of support. Panel members include executive directors from New Hope Midcoast, Area Interfaith Outreach (AIO) and Homeworthy (formerly the Knox County Homeless Coalition), as well as a client featured in the film and the filmmaker. Representatives from law enforcement and healthcare will be on hand. Questions from audience members are welcome. Social media specialist Jo Dondis will moderate.
Creating Communities of Compassion is co-sponsored by the Strand Theatre and held in partnership with AIO and Homeworthy. All community members are welcome to attend; no RSVP is needed. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served. For more information, visit News and Events at newhopemidcoast.org or call Joan at (207) 691.5969.
