Nancy Fitzgerald, obituary
ROCKLAND — Nancy Eleanor Breed Fitzgerald, formerly of Owls Head, died June 2, 2015, at age 88 after a long illness.
Daughter of the late Charles and Elsa Breed of Camden, she was born in Newton, Mass. Nancy was a graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont and moved to Maine in 1970. She taught for many years at the Henderson School in Camden.
She was a founding member of Nine Lively Ladies, a Midcoast Maine artists' group. Nancy enjoyed a very active life; including swimming in the ocean, cross-country skiing, hiking and boating. She also loved to paint, knit, play piano, tend her perennial gardens, and entertain her friends and family. She was active in her community and volunteered at the Rockland Public Library, the Good Tern food coop, the local animal shelter and with the Meals on Wheels program.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Ernest (Marsh) Fitzgerald; and by her daughter, Tammy Brodsky.
She is survived by her son, Dean Campbell and his wife, Renee, of San Rafael, Calif.; her daughters, Elsa Campbell and her husband, Ken Lennon, of Boston, Mass., Sarah Cucinelli and her husband, Don, of Brunswick, and Molly MacLean and her partner, Eisso Atzema, of Stillwater; her grandchildren, Merin Noonan and her husband, Brian, of Houston, Texas, Aaron Brodsky and his wife, Erin, of Alexandria, Va., and Christopher Campbell and Chloe Campbell, both of San Rafael, Calif.; and her great-granddaughters, Miranda Noonan, and Virginia and Corrine Brodsky. Her cherished Tiger Lily, one of many well-loved pets through her lifetime, recently died. Their ashes will be placed together in the Mount View Cemetery in Camden.
In lieu of services, there will be a celebration of her life at a later date.
