WATERVILLE — Two former Midcoast soccer players have been recognized by the North Atlantic Conference for their performances on the soccer pitch this season.

Aubrey Schaefer, a 2019 graduate of Medomak Valley High School and freshman at Thomas College, was one of 11 women to be named to the all-conference second team list.

She appeared in all 16 of the Terriers’ games, starting in 14 of them. She tallied one assist and had four shots on goal as a midfielder.

Lilah Chaar, a 2016 graduate of Searsport District High School and senior at Maine Maritime Academy, was one of nine females named to the conference’s sportsmanship team for exemplary behavior on the pitch.

“The NAC Women's Soccer Sportsmanship Team is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior,” a press release noted. “The honorees positively affect the women's soccer culture and match environment by clearly demonstrating sportsmanship and integrity beyond the sport playing rules and etiquette.”

Chaar appeared in 14 games this season, starting in 10, and recorded two assists with two shots on goal as a defender.

In her four years at Maine Maritime Academy, she appeared in 58 games, starting in 29, and recorded four assists and 17 shots on goal.
