Musician Marc Black relives “Growing Up in the Woodstock Generation” July 20
CUSHING — Musician and music historian Marc Black returns to Midcoast Maine in a live event, “Growing Up in the Woodstock Generation,” Sunday, July 20, at 4 p.m., at the Cushing Public Library. The Thomaston Public Library and the Cushing Historical Society are co-sponsoring this collaborative event, which is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
Marc Black is an eclectic folk-rocker who deals with life, and all its political and social changes...one song at a time. While still in high school, his band, the Blades of Grass, reached the top 40, performing alongside the biggest acts of the day, including the Doors, Van Morrison and Neil Diamond. Inducted into to the New York chapter of the Blues Hall of Fame in June of 2014, he has performed and recorded with many luminaries, including Art Garfunkel, John Sebastian, Rick Danko, Richie Havens, Taj Mahal and Pete Seeger. He was chosen to play at one of Levon Helm’s Midnight Rambles, and was named Folk Artist of the Year on ABC Radio. Marc also won the American Library Association Award for Best Children’s Album of the Year for his production of American Children.
“In short, Marc is a master at spreading the joy of music in story and song,” said CPL, in a news release.
