AUGUSTA — Plans on how to conduct a safe fall sports season amid the ongoing pandemic are nearly finalized, the governing body for Maine high school sports announced in a Wednesday evening press release. 

A meeting took place Wednesday afternoon between the Maine Principal’s Association, Maine Department of Health and Human Services, Maine School Superintendents Association, Maine School Board Association, Maine Department of Education, and the Governor’s office.

“Consensus on the guidelines has been reached with the exception of a few minor edits,” the statement said. “The finished documents will be finalized and shared with MPA member schools at some point [Thursday].”
