ROCKLAND — A driver who reportedly passed out at the wheel while driving through a busy Rockland intersection, Monday morning, was quickly revived by police with the use of Narcan.

At approximately 7:40 a.m., May 22, Knox Regional Communications Center was alerted to a report of a vehicle moving along the northbound travel lane of Broadway through the Park Street (Route 1) intersection. Inside the pickup truck was a driver who was believed to be unresponsive. The vehicle came to a stop on Broadway’s small hill to the north of Park Street.

After administration of Narcan by police, Rockland EMS arrived and took over patient care and eventually transported the driver to the hospital. Meanwhile, Rockland police and Knox County Sheriff’s Office detectives investigated the situation.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident and the lane reopened between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m.

A wrecker was called to remove the vehicle.
