She was born in Monroe, Maine, on December 8, 1937 to Preston G. and Bernice Riley Perkins. Millie and her brother Preston A. Perkins lived on the farm in Monroe with their grandparents, Frank and Mildred Riley, and their aunts and uncles.

After the separation, divorce and re-marriages of their parents, Millie and her brother Preston moved to Rockland to live with their mother and step-father, Alton DeMass, when Millie was 11 years old. She attended and graduated from Rockland High School in 1956.

She married Franklin H. Grey on December 15, 1956 and was with him until his death on March 31, 1989.

She was also predeceased by her mother, Bernice DeMass; father, Preston G Perkins; step-father, Alton DeMass; step-mother, Barbara Perkins; brothers, Preston A. and Charles Perkins; as well as all of Bernice Riley DeMass’ sisters and brothers and most of their spouses.

Millie is survived by her daughter, Alison G. Cox and her husband James, and daughter, Andrea L. Littlefield and her life mate, Errol Littlefield. She has 17 wonderful great-grandchildren – Matthew, Lily, Riley, Desmin, Ayden, Paige, Elijah, Addison, Zephyr, Landon, Jaclynn, Zoe, Morgan and her son Eli, Mackenzie, Xavier and Chance. She remembers her beloved brother’s widow, Carolyne Perkins, and her other five brothers: Glenn, John, Carlton, David, Robert; and three sisters: Jennifer Proctor, Susan Robinson, and Cindy Beane. She also remembers the widows of her uncles: June Riley, Marjorie Riley and Shirley Bowden. She has myriad cousins, second-cousins, in-laws and outlaws, most notably her husband’s aunt Katie Wiley.

Millie worked at the Rockland Public Library prior to her marriage, at Penobscot Poultry, Belfast, Maine for 20 years; for Wendy’s and for two doctors in Florida. Mom always said that she and dad moved every 10 years until he died in 1989 after 32 years of marriage. She then lived in Florida by herself for almost 30 years.

She belonged to Liberty Baptist Church, Liberty, Maine, until she moved to Florida, where she belonged to Spring Hill Baptist Church, Spring Hill, FL. She loved the widows group, Naomi’s, of which she was president for a period of time.
