ROCKLAND — Students recognized for December’s Student of the Month at Midcoast School of Technology show up for school, try new things, and take pride in their accomplishments.

Elliott Johnson – Grade 10 – Medomak Valley High School

Elliot is a first year student from Medomak Valley. He is learning the basics of the Machine Tool trade, and is excelling at using the machines to make parts from a drawing to finished parts.

Elliot shows up every day, is not afraid to try a new machine to make a part, and asks questions when stuck. ~ Rich Barratt, Machine Shop Instructor

Kaitlyn Mann – Grade 11 – Medomak Valley High School

Kaitlyn has a very positive outlook and always comes to class ready to work. She takes an active part in the class and always adds value to the discussion.

Kaitlyn looks for opportunities to expand her knowledge outside of the classroom and brings new information back to class for further exploration of a topic. She is very supportive and respectful of other students and encourages collaboration among her peers. ~ Mr. Bakley, Social Studies Instructor

Caden Reed – Grade 12 – Camden Hills Regional HS

Caden is a hardworking student. He is very conscientious about his school work to get everything done and ensure he gets what he needs to get it done well.

Caden is a role model to all students in the class. ~ Kristy Hastings, Math Instructor

Kristina Rolerson – Grade 10 – Medomak Valley High School

For a first-year student, I could not ask for more than what Kristina has accomplished. She is a hard worker that also helps others in the shop and is a good student in the classroom. Kristina has almost perfect attendance and recently represented the Construction Program at one of our sending schools, speaking to a group of students about the benefits of MCST.

Kristina is also competing in Skills/USA and I think she will do very well in the competition. She is well deserving of this honor. ~ Mr. Dishner, Residential Construction Instructor
