Melinda ‘Minnie’ Guptill, obituary
WALDOBORO — Melinda "Minnie" Guptill, 29, died unexpectedly Oct. 11 at her home in Waldoboro. Minnie was born April 14, 1984, in Rockport to Charles and Vicky Simmons Guptill. She grew up in the Midcoast and graduated from Medomak Valley High School in Waldoboro.
She worked as a fisherman for many years. She also made pizzas at Maritime Farms for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was especially close to her nephews, Tyler Barrows, Brandon Wellman and Colby Wellman, and a niece, Aleia Wellman. She also enjoyed cookouts and parties with her friends and family. She enjoyed drawing and painting.
She was predeceased by her grandmothers, Phyllis Simmons and Dorothy Guptill.
She is survived by her parents, Vicky and Charles Guptill of Waldoboro; her brother, James Guptill of Waldoboro; her sister, Angela Guptill and her husband, Larry Wellman, of Waldoboro; her half-sister, Veronica Fauche of South Windham; her grandfathers, Arthur Simmons of Waldoboro and Leander Guptill of Spruce Head; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Minnie's life will be held Friday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. at Word of Life Church, 41 Old Route 1 in Waldoboro. A reception will follow the service at the church. The Rev. Tom Rawley will officiate.
