Megunticook Rowing announces summer rowing programs
CAMDEN — Megunticook Rowing is pleased to announce summer rowing programs for all ages and levels of rowing experience.
Rowing is the perfect way to get fit and enjoy the beauty of Maine’s waterways while practicing social distancing, a press release stated.
New to rowing? The organization offers Learn-to-Row classes weekday mornings and weekends throughout the summer.
“Come join us on the water for a four day learn-to-row class with our experienced, enthusiastic summer coaches,” said the release. “No experience is needed, just a desire to have fun and a willingness to try something new.”
For experienced rowers who are interested in training for speed, the early morning competitive rowing program is offered Monday through Friday.
The organization is also offering coached novice and intermediate rowing seven mornings and five evenings a week for those who those who love to row and want to increase their technical ability. Summer rowing will include sculling in single boats, and rowing in group boats, depending on interest.
Private lessons are also available. An experienced coaching staff includes professional coaches with extensive collegiate and club level experience, and college rowers home for the summer, eager to teach others to row.
Megunticook Rowing will comply with all State of Maine and U.S. Rowing COVID 19 guidelines to ensure a safe experience for all participants.
Megunticook Rowing is a community-based, non-profit rowing program located at Barrett's Cove on Megunticook Lake in Camden, providing rowing opportunities to people of all ages and abilities, from middle schoolers to octogenarians.
