WALDOBORO — For the second consecutive season, the Medomak Valley basketball program will hold its annual Paws for the Cause event to raise funds for the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition. 

The event, hosted by the Medomak Valley athletic department and the school’s athletic booster club, will be held Wednesday, Jan. 2 when the Panthers host Lincoln Academy.

The varsity boys and girls teams will wear pink uniforms for the event, which features the girls game at 5:30 p.m. and the boys game at 7 p.m.. 

The booster club will be selling special commemorative shirts ahead of the event and athletes will be selling personalized Pink Paws for a $1 donation. 

A 50/50 drawing will be held during the games with those proceeds and other proceeds from the event going to the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition.
