Marie Hills Clark, obituary

Marie Hills Clark, 95, died December 4, 2018 at her home in Belmont. Born in Belfast on July 18, 1923, daughter of Herbert and Mildred Hills. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and composing poetry and short stories. As an active church member, she served as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher, and Pioneer Girls scout leader.
 
She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Priscilla and Andrew Terwilleger, of Kentucky; Carolyn and Edmond Day of New York; Virginia and Richard Nichols, of Connecticut; Cynthia and Jim Shields, of Pennsylvania; Rebecca and Rich Surdam, of Connecticut; Catherine and Jeff Burcham, of Virginia; and son, Daniel Clark, of Florida; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her siblings Glen Hills, Basil Hills, Carl and wife Barbara Hills, and Ann Bucklin. She was preceded in death by her husband Milton, infant daughter Julia, and granddaughter Lynn Nardiello.
 
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday December 29, 2018 at Morrill Baptist Church Morrill, Maine.  Interment will be held in the spring at Grove Cemetery Belfast.  Funeral arrangements are provided by Riposta Funeral Home of Belfast, Maine.
