Come July 18, Camden Garden Club will invite Garden Tour guests to visit five unique properties while enjoying the repertoire of seven talented musicians. It will be a day that offers an expansive listening opportunity for every guest, according to the Garden Club, in a news release. Inspired by the successful introduction of musical accompaniment at the 2023 Tour, this year, talented musicians will play all genres of music ranging from rock to classical piano, from Celtic folk music to violin solos.  

“More than a traditional garden tour, it is a chance to explore neighborhoods and our town’s public spaces, 13 maintained by Camden Garden Club,” said the club. “It is an opportunity to see the lush and enchanting landscapes native to our coastal climate, with a compelling musical accompaniment that you will not want to miss.”

Jamie Allen is a musician, specializing in traditional fiddle, Irish flute, Classical, and Celtic guitar. He enjoys performing traditional Celtic music. He is also available for concerts, parties, and lessons at Irishflute7@gmail.com.

Alex Bigney & Sons: Alex and his sons, Alex and Noah, play Celtic music taught to them by their ancestors. The Scotch snap and the irregular spiky rhythms make feet tap. This musical style comes from their folkloric village, Kirkmount, located in the hills of Nova Scotia.

Charlie Brown is a longtime fixture on the Portland music scene, along the Midcoast, and on Vinalhaven. Each December, he assembles instrumental musicians and vocalists to perform Handel’s Messiah in bars from Portland to Rockland

Phil Clement has performed throughout the Midcoast for over 50 years. Phil plays in local orchestras, for Choral productions, and in pit bands for musical theatre productions. As a guitarist, he is accomplished playing folk, jazz, gospel, country, blues, and rock. philclementguitar@gmail.com.

Greg Dorr has taught himself to play the fiddle, violin, penny whistle, and mandolin. He started playing with a contra-dance band called Karl’s Dad’s Tavern. Edie, his beloved boxer, sings along to the penny whistle. 

Anderson Gray has played the violin all his life. He was a member of the Amherst Symphony Orchestra. In the last episode of HBO's series “The Gilded Age,” he plays in the final scene.

Ina Wolovitz has been playing piano for 11 years and hopes to minor in music. She has played in masterclasses for Pedja Muzijevic and Antonio Galera. She also accompanies other students at Bay Chamber Music School. Ina will attend Brown University in the Fall. 

Ami Wolovitz is a rising 9th grader in Camden. She has played violin for seven years and won 1st place awards in the Young Stars of Maine (2022) and Pine Tree Competition (2021, 2023). She attends the Envision Workshop at Bay Chamber Music School.
