Lloyd A. Tolman, obituary
ROCKPORT — Lloyd A. Tolman, age 87, passed away on May 22, 2026 in Mississippi. Born September 2, 1938, in Rockport, he was one of 13 children born to Donald E. and Esther Wattts Tolman. Educated locally he graduated from Union High School.
Lloyd loved his country and served in the military for 24 years. He served in the Maine National Guard from 1956-1957, the US Army from 1957-1960 and the US Navy from 1960-1980. During his time in the Navy, he became an AVCM, Master Chief Avionics Technician. He traveled the world and lived in Hawaii, California, Maine, and Mississippi.
As a wonderfully kind, caring and considerate man, Lloyd was always helping the ones he loved, especially his family and friends. One could find him driving across the US to visit family and attend weddings and graduations. Lloyd was fiercely independent, lived life to the fullest and was a source of inspiration to many. He will be truly missed.
Other than his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by five sisters: Mildred Wiley, Barbara Widdecombe, Leola Vinal, A. Betty Paulsen and Gloria Keadle, as well as three brothers: Harold Tolman, Ernest Tolman, and Paul Tolman.
Lloyd is survived by two brothers: Alfred Tolman of Hope, and Richard Tolman of Warren; two sisters: Maxine King of Rockland and Geraldine Barker of Branford, Connecticut, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A committal service with military honors will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 10 a.m., at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta, Maine.
