BELFAST — At the state’s high school northern regional championships Saturday, Oct. 26, a total of 298 male cross country runners recorded finishing times across three classifications at Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast. 

From a local perspective, the highlights of the day included Belfast securing a place at the Class B state meet.

CLASS A

Camden Hills finished ninth with a total time of 1:36:03.95. 

Teams finishing in the top seven of this meet advanced to the state meet.

Belfast finished sixth with a total time of 1:36:04.50 and Medomak Valley finished 11th with a total time of 1:41:47.40. 

Class B teams finishing within the top eight of this meet earned spots at the state meet. Thus, Mount Desert Island, Caribou, Hermon, Ellsworth, Erskine Academy, Belfast, Old Town and Lawrence will advance.
