Knoxers capture CRLL title for third year in a row
ROCKPORT – Knoxer's held off McCormick's in the Camden-Rockport Little League baseball championship game Thursday night at the Marge Jones Recreation Facility with a final score of 13-11.
Knoxer pitchers Cole Anderson, Austin Charkowick and Noah Erskine combine for 17 strikeouts.
McCormick's pitching was provided by Spencer Johndro and Sam Hebert who combined for nine strikeouts.
The Knoxers scored their first two runs in their half of the second inning after two walks and a double from Noah Erskine.
McCormick's responded in their half of the third taking the lead with four runs from a series of walks and a hit by Johndro.
Knoxers plated two runs with a single from Anderson and double by Sam Conlan, who later scored following two wild pitches.
McCormick's responded with three runs in the fourth off of a three run home run hit by Kerry Sabanti hit off the first pitch seen following a pitching change.
Knoxers came back in their half to score five runs. The scoring was kicked off by a series of walks and a timely double by Nolan Delahy.
McCormick's scored three more in the top of the fifth inning to take the lead back at 10 - 9. Knoxers responded with four runs in the bottom half with some key hits and aggressive base running.
The Knoxers never looked back as McCormick's was only able to score one additional run leaving the Knoxers with their third straight Camden Rockport Little League Title.
