KNOX — A Knox man was arrested for alleged multi-day kidnapping and gross sexual assault at his place of residence.

Larry G. Alexander, 64, of Knox, was arrested June 24, though the incident allegedly took place from June 20 through June 23. Alexander has been charged with gross sexual assault, kidnapping, terrorizing, and assault.

According to an affidavit filed by Waldo County Sheriff’s Sergeant Detective James Greeley, law enforcement was alerted about the alleged crime by the victim, a woman who was reportedly friends with Alexander. The victim and Alexander had reportedly known each other for a couple of months and were friends, though there was no romantic relationship between the two.

The pair had recently gone on a date when the victim agreed to visit Alexander at his residence June 20, so that they could get to know each other better, according to the affidavit.

Upon arrival at his residence, Alexander allegedly demanded the victim remove her clothing. When the victim protested, Alexander reportedly told her it was his house and his rules. The victim ultimately relented and was then brought into the residence, where she discovered the only furniture in the home was a bed and a tote with clothes inside. Alexander reportedly told her to get on the bed, where she was restrained and sexually assaulted, according to the affidavit.

During the assault Alexander reportedly sat on the victim’s chest, making it difficult to breathe. The victim was sexually assaulted throughout her ordeal.

The victim was prohibited from leaving the residence, with Alexander reportedly telling her that she would go home when he said she could.

It was not until June 23 that the victim was finally allowed to re-dress and leave. On the drive to her residence, Alexander told her not to say anything. After accompanying the victim into her residence and speaking briefly with her adult daughter, Alexander left and the victim told her daughter what happened to her.

The victim was taken to Waldo County General Hospital for treatment.

Alexander has a $50,000 cash bail and will be required to wear a GPS monitor if released.

He is next scheduled to appear in court Aug. 25.
