The Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District (KLSWCD) is seeking nominations for one elected position on its five-member Board of Supervisors. The Board of Supervisors provides leadership and oversight for the District’s business affairs and operations and helps guide its mission of assisting the community in conserving land and water resources. The Board consists of three elected and two appointed Supervisors, who serve overlapping three-year terms.

Candidates for the elected position must be registered voters within the boundaries of the Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District. No specific professional background is required, according to the District, in a news release; candidates need only an interest in conservation and a willingness to participate in monthly Board meetings, held at the District office in Rockport or online. 

To run for the elected position, candidates must submit a nomination paper signed by 25 residents of Knox or Lincoln County. Nomination papers must be received at the District office by 2:30 p.m. on October 29, 2026. Following the nomination deadline, candidates will be posted on the District’s website at www.knox-lincoln.org/board-of-supervisors.

Completed ballots must be received at the District office by 9 a.m. on November 18, 2026. Ballots will be counted at the District’s Board of Supervisors meeting, tentatively scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on November 18, 2026. The public is welcome to attend.

Associate Supervisors Also Welcome In addition to elected and appointed Supervisors, KLSWCD welcomes individuals interested in serving as Associate Supervisors. Associate Supervisors are non-voting members appointed by the Board and may participate based on a general interest in the District’s activities or expertise in a particular area related to conservation.
