Kick off summer with First Friday at The Apprenticeshop, June 7
ROCKLAND — In coordination with First Fridays on Main Street in Rockland, on June 7, from 4 - 7 p.m., The Apprenticeshop is celebrating the kickoff to a fun season of sailing and seamanship with the opening of its new waterfront pavilion.
The public is invited to come enjoy free sailing, food and refreshments from a beautiful location along the northern shores of Rockland Harbor.
In the neighboring Steel House South Gallery, the opening reception of a photography exhibit by Erin Tokarz will showcase stunning black and white images documenting the full rebuild of a Dublin Bay 24 at The Apprenticeshop over the past 5 years. The show will run for the month of June.
4pm - 7pm: Pavilion Grand Opening
4pm - 7pm: Free Friday Sailing
“Embark on a sailing adventure aboard our traditional ‘Shop-built boats, Castor and Pollux, as we offer free Friday Sails for the 2024 season,” said The Apprenticeshop, in a news release.
6pm - 7:30pm: Sunset Sail
A sunset sail on the iconic ketch A Morning in Maine.
5-7pm: First Friday at Steel House
A photography exhibition by Erin Tokarz is on display at the neighboring Steel House South Gallery.
“If you have never been out sailing, or maybe not in a wooden boat, Free Friday Sailing at The Apprenticeshop is a great way try it out,” said the Apprenticeshop.
Vessels used are two open wooden boats built at The Apprenticeshop. From June through September, Free Fridays will take place on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month.

Please note that space is limited for sails and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot. Lifejackets are required and provided by The Apprenticeshop.
