CAMDEN — Each January, the Camden Public Library offers hands-on craft workshops for adults, called Jumpstart January.

“We say, ‘Why should the kids have all the fun?’” said the Library, in a news release.

Call to register; there is a $10 materials fee for each workshop which will be collected at registration. Call the Library at 236-3440.

The first workshop in the series is a “Pysanky Eggs” Workshop. Pysanky Eggs are a traditional Ukranian craft using wax resist to trace intricate patterns onto eggs. The workshop is conducted by Jim and Chris Sady at 6 p.m., Thursday, January 3. Participants will not only learn the techniques but will take home tools of their own so they can keep practicing!

On Tuesday, January 8, at 7 p.m., join Children’s Library Assistant Loraine for an evening of feminist-themed arts and crafts! Inspiration and instruction will be drawn from the book Crafting with Feminism by Bonnie Burton.

    Other Jumpstart January classes include:

Tuesday, January 22, 6:30 p.m.: Sketching with Watercolor and Ink with Heather Davis.
