Judith A. Morse, obituary

BELFAST — Judith Ann Morse passed away on December 25, 2019.

She was born in Belfast Maine on July 30, 1937 to parents Herbert and Frances (Spear) Roberts. Judy grew up in Belfast and graduated in 1955 from Crosby High School. 

She married Harold C. Morse of Belmont in July of 1955. They traveled and lived throughout the United States for the next 17 years as a Naval family, raising four children; Greg, Pamela, Laura and Jeffery. The family happily returned to Belfast in 1972 when Hal retired from the military.

Judy worked a variety of jobs while raising a family, including Naval Relief Charity in North Chicago, Illinois; fabric store in Springfield, Massachusetts; and as a daycare provider in Belfast. Judy and Hal owned and operated the Montgomery Ward’s franchise in Belfast for three years. Judy and Hal operated Morse’s Blue Berries for many years in Belmont.

Judy enjoyed knitting and created many hats, mittens, and socks for family, friends, and others.  

Judy is survived by husband of 64 years, Hal; son Greg Morse and his wife Julie; daughter, Laura Miller and husband Jeff; son Jeff Morse and wife Carla; five grandsons; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Becky Maddison of Berwick and Janna Swift of Belfast; and brother, Steve Flanders of Ellsworth.  

She was predeceased by her parents and daughter Pam. 

Services will take place at a later date and will be announced.
