Joel Lafleur to speak at GRTU meeting: Fly fishing remote ponds
CAMDEN — Georges River Trout Unlimited (GRTU) welcomes Joel Lafleur for a presentation on fly fishing Maine’s remote ponds for wild and native brook trout. Lafleur will share tips on how to find and explore remote ponds, pond fishing strategies, and more.
The presentation will take place May 12, at 7 p.m., upstairs at Sea Dog Brewing Co., 1 Main Street, Camden, and will include discussion of Maine’s Heritage Waters program.
Lafleur is a retired surgeon, avid fly tyer, longtime member of Trout Unlimited (TU) and current GRTU Board member. He lives in Camden with his wife.
The GRTU meeting will start at 6 p.m. with “Trout Talk,” an informal gathering for those who wish to visit before the presentation. The formal meeting and featured presentation begin at 7 p.m. GRTU conducts a raffle directly following the speaker.
GRTU meetings are free and open to the public.
