Jan. 14 Busline League basketball results

The Busline League continued regular season play for middle school basketball on Monday, Jan. 14 across the Midcoast and several local schools were in action. 

Below are the scores and statistics from those games as reported to our sports department. 

7th Grade Girls Basketball: Medomak 27, Camden-Rockport 10

Medomak held quarterly advantages of 10-4, 14-4 and 20-8. 

Scoring for Medomak were Eliza Luce (16 points), Sara Nelson (eight) and Ryleigh Rainey (three). 

Scoring for Camden-Rockport were Lana Massengle (one point), Bella Ward (three) and Breena Mackey (six). 

“Great defense was played by Melissa Fogg, Ryleigh Rainey, Samantha Christensen and Haley Puchalski,” said Medomak coach Andrea Williamson of her players. 

8th Grade Girls Basketball: Camden-Rockport 51, Medomak 40

Scoring for Medomak were Madi (10 points), Addison (eight), Chelsea (four), Emily (16 points) and Cindy (two). 

Scoring for Camden-Rockport were Bella (two points), Hannah (10), Ella (10), Gabby (eight), Lauren (three), Molly (14) and Addison (four). 

“Rachel and Trishelle play big minutes for us and gave it everything they could I’m so happy with how they are stepping up big,” said Medomak coach Celia Philbrick of her players. 

8th Grade Boys Basketball: Medomak 47, Camden-Rockport 40

Medomak held quarterly advantages of 10-3, 27-15 and 37-28. 

Scoring for Medomak were Kevin Sincyr (eight points), Hayden Staples (six), Gaitlin Bedenik (two), Blake Morrison (22), Will Cheeseman (two), Finn Parmley (three), Jaiden Starr (two) and Matthew Holbrook (two). 

Scoring for Camden-Rockport were Quincy Messer (15), Wilson Fedarko (three), Lucas Moody (five), Cam Brown (seven) and Will Smith (10). 

7th Grade Boys Basketball: Medomak 45, Camden-Rockport 36

Camden-Rockport held a narrow 16-15 lead after the first quarter and a 25-22 advantage at the half. Medomak held a 35-30 lead after the third quarter. 

Scoring for Medomak were Connor Benner (two points), Kory Donlin (10), Landon Trask (12), Zan Nauven (nine), Aaron Reed (eight) and Finian Kelly (four). 

Scoring for Camden-Rockport were Owen Reynolds (eight points), Karl Hokkanen (two), Will Duke (22), August Knause (two). 

Medomak coach Patrick Delahanty credited Slavick Moody for playing impressive defense and Sam Moody, Nelson Weeks, Landon Tapley, Kolby Staples and Sullivan Bartlett for solid overall play.

8th Grade Boys Basketball: Oceanside 76, Great Salt Bay 70

Scoring for Oceanside were Alex Bartlett (18 points), Hayden Jacques (15), Alex Collins (14), Isaiah Meklin (14), Noah Burns (five), Logan Brazier (five), Jason Leclerc (three) and Noah Chapin (two). 

Scoring for Great Salt Bay were J. Duncan (27), G. Hagar (20), L. Haighton (11), C. Duncan (nine) and W. Simmons (three). 

8th Grade Girls Basketball: Oceanside 69, Great Salt Bay 28

Oceanside held quarterly advantages of 18-7, 37-17 and 51-25. 

Scoring for Oceanside were A. Hersey (eight points), B. Stasulis (seven), A. Knowlton (three), S. Hansen (six), A. Mackie (15), A. Hatch (six), E. Sykes (five) and A. Waterman (19). 

Scoring for Reegan Duncan (two), Maya Cannon (seven), McKenney (16) and Genther (three).
