CAMDEN — The Camden Opera House presents “The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Eric Carle Favourites” on its stage Saturday, March 7, at 3 p.m.

The Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia brings the beloved early-reader book to life using original music and black light, which hides the actors from view and allows the puppet show’s colors to “pop” as the book’s famed
collage art does. This hour-long show has been presented all over the world, according to the Opera House, in a news release.

In addition to “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” the family production includes “Little Cloud” and “The Mixed-Up Chameleon.”

Adapted, designed and directed by Jim Morrow, with music by Steven Naylor and narration by Gordon Pinsent, the hit show has been presented in English, Dutch, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, French and Mandarin.

No-fee tickets are $17 for adults; $8 for kids age 6 to 18; and $2 for younger children in advance; $20/$10/$2 day-of-show, available at camdenoperahouse.com, by calling 236-3154 and at box office an hour before show time.

Owl & Turtle will have Carle books for sale.
