Hope Town Office reopens for routine business Wednesday afternoon

Tue, 08/17/2021 - 5:15pm

The Town of Hope Office will reopen for routine business at noon, Wednesday, August 18, barring any further complications, according to a news release.

For this week, Hope will only be able to do routine items such as vehicle registrations and tax payments, the release said.

“f you have something else/complex, please wait until Tuesday, August 24, or after so that we may better assist you,” said the Hope Town Office. “We thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate this occurrence safely.”

The town office closed last week after someone who had tested positive for COVID-19 was in the town office on August 10 and 11.

“Therefore, out of an abundance of caution and following the federal and Maine CDC guidelines, the office was closed for everyone’s safety,” the release said. “Our Interim Town Clerk has tested negative, so anyone who was in the office during the week of August 9-13 can be reasonably comfortable that they were not exposed to the person who did test positive. Further, the office has been cleaned, meeting or exceeding the CDC guidelines.

“We wish good health, a mild case, and rapid recovery to the individual concerned and to everyone ill with COVID. We look forward to resuming regular town hours at noon Wednesday, and regular full service the following Tuesday. Stay safe and thanks again for your understanding.”
