ROCKPORT — “Buying a home has become increasingly challenging,” said Five Town Adult Ed, in a news release. “Even when prices were lower and there was more housing available it was hard to know where to start, but the Homebuyer’s Education course offered by MaineStream Finance was always an excellent place.”

Five Town Adult Ed is offering this class in person. This class will help you learn how much house you can afford and ways to finance it, explain much of the jargon used by real estate agents and lenders, and help you plan for the home you want.

Class participants who attend all classes receive a homebuyer education certificate, recognized by Maine State Housing Authority and Rural Development, giving you access to special loan programs through MSHA, FHA, and VA. The certificate is good for 2 years.

Homebuyer education class attendees over the years have given the classes high ranks and recommend that every first-time homebuyer consider taking the class, according to the release.

This class meets for 3 nights at Camden Hills Regional High School: April 3, 4 and 5, from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
