Harry P. Earl, obituary
ROCKLAND — Harry P. Earl, 81, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 3, 2019 surrounded by his family.
Born July 20, 1938 in Camden he was the son of Harry and Marjorie Earl. He attended schools in Camden and Rockland.
Harry joined the Army and proudly served his country in the third infantry division. Upon leaving the army in 1957 with an honorable discharge, he returned home to Rockland, and on July 30, 1963, married his wife, Beatrice. They raised their two children, Michael and Christine, in Rockland. He was employed as a mechanic for the Maine DOT, Maplewood Poultry and retired from the Rockland Elks in 2004.
His many interests included working on cars, especially street rods, attending car shows, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling, He was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan, passionately coaching the teams
from his living room chair. He loved his cats.
Harry is survived by his wife, Beatrice; son, Michael and his wife Laura; daughter, Christine Knight and her husband Carl; grandchildren, Daniel Stockbridge and his wife Ashley, Matthew Earl and his wife Trisha, Jacob
Earl and his partner Brittany Vincent, Courtney Knight; two great-grandsons, Tristan Earl and Brysen Vincent.
He also leaves a sister, Winifred Wildes and her husband Norman, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers George and David, as well as two infant brothers.
Family and friends are invited to visit Sunday, Dec. 8, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland, where a celebration of his life will be held immediately following at 12 p.m. (Noon). Pastor Matt McDonald will officiate.
