BELFAST — The Board of Trustees of Cornerspring Montessori School in Belfast announces that Haley Norris has completed her Montessori Teacher Preparation and received her Montessori Elementary I Credential.
Norris holds a BA in Linguistics and Spanish with a minor in education from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She joined the teaching staff at Cornerspring in January of 2017 as Assistant Teacher. In September 2019, Norris became the lead teacher of the lower elementary class and guides 20 students in their Montessori education this school year.
Over the past two years, Norris has completed 760 hours of Montessori Teacher Training coursework and 1,000 hours of practicum experience in the classroom. Her course work included extensive study in teaching math, language arts and the sciences.
“Norris’s credential is proof of her many hours of dedication to her personal and professional growth, as well as her commitment to serving children,” said Cornerspring, in a news release.
Cornerspring’s talented and dedicated teachers ensure that the educational program is academically challenging, engaging each student by linking the curriculum to children’s interests and experience, and supportive of the relationships between child, teacher, parent and the school community. Cornerspring programs provide an environment that enables students to set goals and establish deeply held values; independence, responsibility, self-respect, respect for others and compassion.
