SEARSPORT — Gregory "Greg" W. Parks, 66, of Searsport, passed away surrounded by family on March 25, 2019 at his home. 

He was born on January 15, 1953 in Bangor, the son of Gerald and Adelene (Bourdelais) Parks. 

Greg graduated from Mt. View class of 1971 and then attended and graduated from Eastern Maine Vocational Tech Institute.

He started his career with his father at G.W. Parks and Son Lumber and then went on to start Greg Parks Builders, doing general contracting for many years. Most recently Greg was a sales representative for Timberhaven Log Homes.

He was a successful, self-proclaimed, honest businessman. 

When he wasn’t in the office, you could find him woodworking in his shop. He was a Mason for over 40 years at the Marsh River Lodge, acting as both Past Master and Secretary. Greg enjoyed golfing, watching NASCAR and watching his children play many sports.

First and foremost was his love for his family and gatherings with them brought him the most happiness.

He is predeceased by his parents.

Greg is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Donna (Herrick) Parks of Searsport; his beloved children Becky Parks-Beaulac and wife Heidi of Gilford, NH., Beth Parks of Waldoboro, Cody Parks of Searsport; granddaughter Teylor Jo Parks; his sister Carol Roberts and husband Raymond of Jackson; his siblings in law Dolores Merrithew and husband Edgar, Don Herrick and wife Darlene all of Stockton Springs, Darlene Barr and husband Herman of Belfast, Doug Herrick and wife Donna of Hancock, Dot Connor and husband Arnold, Denise Dakin and husband William all of Stockton Springs; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends Emery, Don, Roy and Tom and Jeff.

Visiting hours will be held, Thursday, March 28, from 1 to 2 p.m., at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m.  

Interment will be held privately in the spring.
