THOMASTON — On Monday, November 4, several students at Thomaston Grammar School were recognized for the attribute of gratitude. Students were presented with a certificate at a school-wide assembly and will have lunch with the school principal later this month.

“When we think of gratitude, we think of the phrase, thank you, but the actions of gratitude go so much beyond these basic words,” said TGS, in a news release. “Gratitude is an intrinsic quality; it comes from the inside. It is knowing and understanding the right thing to do.”

Marlena Gorman was also awarded the Principal’s Award.

Marlena’s strength of character, kind heart, respect and tolerance of others and their differences, positive attitude, and ability to persevere through any obstacles that are in her path, among other things, are why she is the perfect candidate to receive this award.

Marlena always comes through the door with a smile on her face and an air of positivity that surrounds her and spreads to those in her path. Her excellent attitude for learning, cooperation, and good sportsmanship are infectious.

She is a welcome addition to any group or team and is always willing to do more than her fair share and work with any one of her peers who she is paired with.

Congratulations to all the TGS students that received awards this month!
