George Peter Burch, obituary
George Peter Burch, 66, of Marshalls Creek, Pennsylvania, died Monday, October 2, 2017, while under hospice care in his home. He was the husband of Bernadine Ann (Turtzo) Burch with whom he shared 30 years of marriage.
Born on April 22, 1951 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of George L. Burch of Whitehall, Penn., and the late Catherine (Gresser) Burch. He lived his early years in Whitehall and then Marshalls Creek for the past 33 years. He and his wife enjoyed spending time at their home in South Thomaston for the past four years.
George graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School in 1969 and received his bachelor’s of arts degree from De Sales University, Magna Cum Laude, in 1995.
He worked at Petterson-Kelley Co. (now Harsco Corporation) from 1977 until his retirement in 2013.
He loved animals and enjoyed volunteering at Owls Head Transportation Museum in Owls Head.
In addition to his wife and father surviving are a stepson, Thomas R. Lipe and wife Jami of Bangor, Penn.; a sister, Kathleen A. Carey and husband Michael of Allentown, Penn; nieces Megan, Lauren, and Taylor Carey and Nicole and Katlyn Turtzo; and a great niece, Sarina.
Cremation was private and there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
