Gayle T. Harper, 83, died peacefully with family on April 18, 2019,  just hours after her 65th wedding anniversary. 

Born in Freeport, Maine on December 21, 1935, she was the daughter of Mildred and Charles Lemont. Gayle attended Belfast schools and continued her college education in accounting. 

She retired after 30 years working as a mechanic and supervisor at GTE Sylvania.

Gayle enjoyed many activities such as reading, braiding rugs, and antiquing. She was very proud of her extensive antique doll collection. All that knew her would describe Gayle as a strong, intelligent and spirited woman with a great sense of humor. She was truly devoted to her high school sweetheart and husband of 65 years. They were inseparable. 

Gayle is survived by her husband, Keith L. Harper of Appleton, Gil Harper and his wife Susan of Cushing, Katherine Allen and her husband Danny of Rockland, Keith Harper II and his partner Heather Klase of Tampa, Florida, and 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

The family truly appreciates the kind and loving care provided by the Knox Center team during her final days.

A memorial service will be scheduled.
