Gayle Diana O’Brien, obituary
ROCKPORT — Gayle Diana O’Brien, 60, of Rockport, died on November 15, 2018, at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a long illness.
Born in Rockport on July 31, 1958, she was the daughter of LeForest and Faye (Payson) Doucette and was a 1977 graduate of Camden-Rockport High School.
Gayle discovered the enjoyment of life and helping others in need. She had passion for the arts, music and cooking, and started a cooking business. Her food was very popular and was enjoyed by many. She did her best to make the world a better place.
Gayle was happily married to Fredrick O’Brien for 23 years until his death in 2015. She enjoyed sailing on Penobscot Bay during the summer months and working for the Schooner Lazy Jack.
She will be remembered for her huge heart, her love of animals and family, and her passion for cooking. For those who knew Gayle, remember she will always be with us in spirit and forever in our hearts, and she did her best to make the world a better place.
Surviving is her mother, Faye Doucette, of Rockland; two children, Michael Doucette and his wife, Aimee of Warren; Jasmine Taylor of Appleton; six grandchildren, Marina, Nolan, Grady, Nimaway, Diania, and LeForest, who loved her dearly; and a brother, Robert Doucette of Union; and several nieces.
She was predeceased by her father, LeForest Doucette, husband, Fredrick O’Brien, and a sister, Dolores Walburn.
