Full Moon Hike at Beech Hill Preserve
Join Coastal Mountains Land Trust and Maine Health’s Community Health Program on Saturday, January 31, for a full moon hike to the summit of Beech Hill. The group will meet at 5 p.m., at the Beech Hill Road trailhead and walk up together as the full moon rises. The trail is about 0.6 miles on a farm road with a gentle, but steady incline. On top of the hill, the historic Beech Nut will be open, and the fireplace will be lit. All are welcome.
"In the event of clear skies, the full moon will illuminate our hike, but participants should bring a flashlight or headlamp, for a back-up light source," said CMLT, in a news release. "We recommend warm and wind-proof layers with footwear that accommodates the current hiking conditions: boots and ice grips may be appropriate."
In the event of inclement (including overcast) weather, this event will be rescheduled for Sunday, February 1, at 5 p.m.
