Fueled by late rally, Medomak 7th girls basketball edges Oceanside

WALDOBORO — The Oceanside and Medomak seventh grade girls basketball teams met on the hardwood in Waldoboro for what ended up being a thrilling Busline League contest Tuesday, Dec. 10. 

Oceanside held quarterly advantages of 13-8, 28-24 and 44-31, but a strong fourth quarter rally by Medomak saw the host Riverhawks collect a 58-54 victory.  

The Riverhawks outscored the Mariners 27-8 in the final quarter. 

Scoring for Medomak were Lilly Christ (13 points), Kytana Williamson (18), Audrey Jackson (20), Skylar Hills (five) and Erica Waite (two). 

Scoring for Oceanside were Lili Reed (six points), Ryley Beaudry (10), Kayla Baines (two), Lily Stackpole (four), Sienna Geretz (two) and Bailey Breen (30). 

The next contest for Oceanside will be at home Thursday, Dec. 12 against Appleton. 

The next contest for Medomak will be Thursday, Dec. 12 on the road in Belfast against the Troy Howard “A” team.
