Free trees: Camden is ready to plant shade trees for citizens who want one

Mon, 05/23/2022 - 9:45pm

The Town of Camden has a limited number of shade trees available for planting on the street if one lives in Camden.

The Camden Street Shade Tree Volunteers are working with the Town to place these trees now. If you have a space in front of your house and would like a shade tree, let us know now (call 236-8732  or beedyparker@gwi.net, for more information and to sign up). The trees include White Oak, Sugar Maple, Kentucky Coffee Tree. Honey Locust, Red Horse Chestnut, and a Hawthorn variety.

The trees are free, funded by the town, but must be watered through the first growing season, (and possibly the second year if  we have drought)   If we can't give you a tree this year, you will be on the list for next year's tree  program.

We are losing the great old trees now and need to replant soon in order to keep Camden cool and beautiful!
