This Music Together® of Midcoast Music Academy class is for ages 0 through 5 with caregiver(s). According to a Library news release, the class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages to foster natural, family-style learning. Each child participates at his or her own level. Any caregivers—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the children.
"The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience," said the Library.
Shannon Burns discovered her love of the arts at an early age—dancing, playing piano and cello, singing in choirs, and performing in plays and musicals throughout her childhood and into early adulthood. With over twenty years' experience, Burns has spent her career as a social worker and rehabilitation counselor supporting children, youth, and their families to determine and reach their life goals.
"Shannon is excited to be a registered Music Together® teacher," said the news release. "She loves the philosophy that Music is for Everyone, and Everyone is Musical. She looks forward to sharing the joy and fun of Music Together® with Midcoast families."
Midcoast Music Academy is a community music school that was founded in 2012. This program is sponsored by First National Bank.
