Merryspring Nature Center and Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District are teaming up this summer to bring fun learning opportunities to children and families with a new free program called Explorer Kits beginning July 1.

To make environmental education opportunities available to everyone during a time of social distancing and economic hardship, Explorer Kits are free take-home activities designed to inspire outdoor exploration and independent learning. Each Wednesday between July 1 and August 19 a different Explorer Kit will be available for pickup at Merryspring. The Kits will feature instructions, materials, and ideas for children ages 4 to 9, with each week presenting a new surprise activity and theme.

A total of 20 Explorer Kits will be available each week on a first-come, first-served basis. The Explorer Kits can be picked up from a box in front of Merryspring’s Ross Center each Wednesday at 9 a.m.

These Explorer Kits are made possible by a partnership between Merryspring and KLSWCD, two longtime program partners. Explorer Kits are free to all, but donations are accepted. For more information on Explorer Kits, please contact Merryspring at info@merryspring.org or 207-236-2239.

Merryspring Nature Center is located at 30 Conway Road in Camden, just behind the Hannaford Shopping Plaza.
