Fourth annual powder puff derby hosted by Girl Scout troop 1341
Tue, 05/01/2018 - 12:00am
The racers were raring to go at Camden-Rockport Elementary School on Saturday, March 30 for the fourth annual powder puff derby sponsored by Camden Girl Scout troop 1341.
What has become an annual tradition, continues to grow! Forty-five Girl Scouts throughout the Knox Service Unit put their carpentry and engineering skills to work preparing for the day.
Prior to the race, the girl scouts enjoyed a traffic sign scavenger hunt and voted on their choices for the certificate award categories. Mike York, who has donated the use of his track and time, ran the races. Fun was had, especially when the troop’s leaders raced against their daughters or siblings raced against each other.
The creativity with building the cars continues to impress us all. We look forward to next year's race!
