CAMDEN — The Camden-Rockport Historical Society invites the community to its Fall Open House on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 12 to 2 p.m., at the historical society grounds, located at 30 Conway Road (next to Hannaford on the Camden-Rockport line).

Join CRHS for guided tours of the historic Conway-Thorndike homestead and browse the grounds and other buildings with fellow history enthusiasts. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the homestead's significance as well as the other buildings, including barn, blacksmith shop, and museum.

A few highlights include a demonstration of  traditional glazing techniques for historic window repair by local artist and history expert Donald Rainville, traditional fiddle music played live by Anderson Gray, and a display of local maps and a digital image slideshow in the museum.

For those who would like to arrive a little early, there will be a dedication and unveiling of the newly renovated Camden Rotary Caretakers Cottage at 11 a.m.

"This is an exciting partnership made possible by the generosity of local Rotarians in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Camden Rotary Club," said CRHS, in a news release. "This small home, vacant for years, was originally donated to the historical society by Mary Meeker Cramer, and will once again provide year round housing at a reasonable cost to locally employed people."

The public is also welcome to attend the Annual Meeting, which begins at 10 a.m.

"Join us in preserving our history and celebrating our community," said CRHS.
