Into the Ether: A Discussion on The Extraordinary Life and Death of Kate Banks, Oct. 26
CAMDEN — The Camden Public Library welcomes Amy Banks, MD and Nancy Banks, PhD, for an exploration of the life, death and wisdom of their sister Kate Banks, a prolific children’s book author, energy healer, wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt…and poet, author of new book Into the Ether, selected by People Magazine as one of the "Best New Books" in October 2024.
This event will take place Saturday, Oct. 26, at 3 p.m., in the Picker Room. There will be refreshments available as well as copies of Into the Ether for sale. Free and open to all.
Kate Banks, award winning children’s book author, “chose” to end her life by voluntary assisted death on February 24, 2024, ending a two-year odyssey with stage 4 neuroendocrine cancer. Kate believed death was an extension of life, a transition that all living beings experience.During Kate’s battle with cancer, she began writing poetry seriously. She described her creative process as channeling universal energies and wisdom onto the page. In stunning detail and profound prose, she shared pivotal moments in her own life that shaped her earthly mind and body and allowed her to exit this life on her own terms.Amy Banks, MD, is a a Lexington psychiatrist, author, and teacher. Nancy Banks, PhD, is a New York City educator.
