Enjoy the events but be respectful of residents living in the Pascal Hall, Rockport, area

Pascal Hall (86 Pascal Ave., Rockport) has morphed into a very active art center which I am sure is welcomed by many, but the effect of multitudes of people visiting it during events such as the fair scheduled for this weekend (December 3 and 4) and next weekend (December 10) has a very negative impact on residents around the hall.

We have missed having our mail delivered because cars are parked in front of our mailboxes or so close to the yellow no parking lines that the mail truck cannot reach the boxes.

We have not been able to get to our mail boxes because they are blocked by cars. Even trying to cross the street to get out mail can be hazardous due to cars blocking the view of both pedestrians and drivers and blocking the crosswalks.

We have had near misses by oncoming vehicles when we try to pull out onto Pascal Ave. from side streets — our views are blocked by cars parked up to the edge of side streets ignoring the yellow no parking lines and even the no parking signs that finally went up earlier this year after much complaining.

The few residents who do not have a driveway and have to park on Pascal have, at times, not been able to find a space near their home.

So, folks, do come to Pascal Hall and enjoy the events, but please be respectful of the residents around the Hall. There is a very nice sidewalk on the Pascal Hall side of Pascal Ave. Park down the street and use the sidewalk!
