Ena Lupine and Joël Porquet celebrated their wedding vows on the grassy lawn at Tops’l Farm in Waldoboro on the balmy afternoon of August 10, 2019. Joël, changing his last name to match hers, will be known as Joël Lupine.

The couple’s vows were exchanged in French and English and the ceremony was followed by a contra dance led by Velocipede with John McIntire calling. Skits and original songs by friends and family members were interspersed with a sit down meal of traditional French and American cuisine and dancing to contemporary music.

A late night bonfire provided a relaxed and intimate atmosphere for guests traveling from all over the world to be part of this international wedding. The couple will be returning to their home and jobs in Sacramento, California, and are planning a honeymoon for next year.

Ena is the daughter of Jennifer Hill and Marshall Rolerson, of Waldo, and John Libby, of Montville. She is a graduate of Colby College in Maine and the University of California in Davis, and currently serves as a Community Assistance Program Manager for the Strategic Growth Council in Sacramento.

Joël, the son of Marie-Geneviève and Philippe Porquet, of Gif-sur-Yvette, France, received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Sorbonne University and works at the University of California in Davis as an Assistant Professor of Teaching.
